Regular blood work is the foundation of safe TRT. Monitoring estradiol levels and, when necessary, using an aromatase inhibitor can restore balance. If estrogen levels climb too high, your provider may adjust your protocol or add an aromatase inhibitor. Side effects at this stage are generally related to dose optimization. Additionally, Smith-Ryan et al. reported no significant effects of creatine loading on neuromuscular properties of fatigue in young adult females. Increasing creatine concentrations in the brain as a result of supplementation, particularly in females, may support the reported benefits of reducing symptoms of depression 171, 172 and ameliorating the effects of traumatic brain injury 12, 22. Females have been reported to have lower levels of creatine in the brain (frontal lobe) . Specifically, creatine supplementation may be of particular importance during menses, pregnancy, post-partum, perimenopause and postmenopause. It may also raise blood concentration of testosterone because there is less fluid to dilute it, leading to unexpected side effects. Although TRT replaces testosterone artificially, dehydration could still make the therapy less effective. TRT increases testosterone levels to a normal range, which affects many organs.
